Brian J. Krabak, M.D.
Dr. Krabak is a sports medicine specialist in the departments of rehabilitation, orthopaedics and sports medicine. He focuses on the prevention, treatment and sports performance-enhancement of sports-related injuries in youth and adult athletes.
He has a particular interest in endurance athletes (swimmers, runners, triathletes, cyclists and adventure racers), concussions and baseball injuries. As a competitive athlete participating in multi-day adventure races, mountain bike races and Ironman triathlons, he understand the importance of balancing fitness and preventing injury.
He was a physician for the the Baltimore Orioles, 2004 Summer Olympics, 2002 Winter Olympics, 1996 Paralympic Games and co-director of the Baltimore Marathon. He is a team physician for UW Athletics, team consultant for Seattle University Athletics, USA Swimming Sports Medicine and Science High Performance Team and medical director for the Racing the Planet 4 Desert Series Ultramarathons.
He is passionate about helping patients regain active lifestyles and seeks to support amateur to professional athletes of all ages on a local to international level. He believes in treating the athlete as a whole, focusing on their specific goals.
Dr. Krabak focuses on the prevention, treatment and sports performance enhancement of sports related injuries in youth and adult athletes. Dr. Krabak works closely with the patient, therapists, athletic trainers and coaches to develop a comprehensive program to return athletes to competitive status as quickly as possible. Dr. Krabak has a particular interest in endurance athletes (swimmers, runners, triathletes, cyclists and adventure racers), concussions and baseball injuries.
He has competed in more than 30 endurance events, including 24-hour and 36-hour adventure races; XTERRA and TransRockies 250-mile Mountain Bike Race; and marathons and triathlons from Olympic to Ironman distances.

His research interests focus on the prevention and treatment of overuse injuries and medical illnesses in the endurance athlete. His current research includes assessing injuries in multi-day ultramarathon adventure athletes, analyzing biochemical markers affecting hydration in multi-day ultramarathon adventure athletes and analyzing cardiac markers in multi-day ultramarathon adventure athletes.
