Kurt L. Johnson, Ph.D.
Dr. Kurt Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and head of the Division of Rehabilitation Counseling. He also directs the U. W. Center for Technology and Disability Studies (http://uwctds.washington.edu). Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 and subsequently taught at Florida State University. He came to the University of Washington in 1990.
Dr. Johnson teaches the medical and psychosocial aspects of disabilities, disability policy, technology and disability and several of the core courses in the Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences curriculum.

Dr. Johnson's clinical interests include rehabilitation counseling, vocational medicine, assistive technology, and vocational rehabilitation.
Dr. Johnson's research interests include measurement of outcomes in rehabilitation, participation and employment; the relationship between secondary conditions and participation; multiple sclerosis; disability policy; technology and disability; and adjustment to disability.
